Materials and methods: This is a systematic, observational, and retrospective review, subjected to analytical reading and using the GRADE evaluation system to assess the level of evidence of articles published in the following databases: Scielo, Sciencedirect, PubMed, Epistemonikos, Researchgate, and Scielo. Of the 10 articles systematically reviewed, 100% are of high quality as described below: 40% (n=4/10) are meta-analyses, and 60% (n=6/10) are systematic reviews. The articles come from the following countries: England (60%), Germany (10%), India (10%), the United States (10%), and Brazil (10%). Results: 100% (n=10/10) of the articles (11-20) indicate that brief interventions are effective in reducing alcohol consumption in alcohol-consuming patients. Conclusion: Brief interventions are effective in reducing alcohol consumption in alcohol-consuming patients.
