Material and Methods: Systematic observational and retrospective review, subjected to critical reading and using the GRADE evaluation system to identify the degree of evidence of the articles published in the following databases: PubMed, Epistemonikos, Sciencedirect, Scielo, Researchgate. Of the 10 articles systematically reviewed, 50% (n= 5/10) are meta-analyses, 30% (n= 3/10) are randomized controlled trials, and 20% (n= 2/10) are cohort studies. and come from the countries of England (30%), the United States (20%), followed by China (10%), Malaysia (10%), Brazil (10%), Holland (10%), and Spain (10%).Results: 100% (n=10/10) (15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24) indicate that the central venous catheter impregnated with antimicrobials is effective for prevent bloodstream infection in patients in critical units. Conclusion: The study concludes that the central venous catheter impregnated with antimicrobials is effective in preventing bloodstream infection in patients in critical units. Because the nurse is in constant vigil, supervision, prevention in care and security.
