Ítem Acceso abierto Correlation of the stages of kidney damage and glycosylated hemoglobin in patients with Type II Diabetes, Policlinico Villa Salud 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-07-16) Ramirez Ortiz, Josselyn; Borja Velezmoro, Gustavo AdolfoIn Peru, diabetes mellitus is one of the non-communicable diseases that has been increasing over the years, constituting a problem due to the various public health complications it generates. Therefore, this study was developed to establish the relationship between renal damage stages and glycosylated hemoglobin in type II diabetes patients at the Villa Salud Polyclinic in San Juan de Lurigancho in 2022. Using a descriptive-quantitative non-experimental methodology, a cross-sectional retrospective design, the study examined 529 type II diabetes patients. The results were processed using SPSS v26, with a Spearman Rho test to assess the relationship between HbA1c and CKD stages, obtaining a P-value of 0.329. The most prevalent CKD stages were stages 1 and 2, with 60% and 34%, respectively, and an average HbA1c of 7.1%, with 59% being female and 41% male. Conclusion: No relationship was found between renal damage stages and glycosylated hemoglobin.
