    Cumplimiento de buenas prácticas de prescripción en el Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Neurológicas en el 2018

    The objective of this study was to determine the level of compliance with Good Prescribing Practices (GPP) in the outpatient service of the National Institute of Neurological Sciences in 2018. A descriptive, retrospective, observational, and cross-sectional study was conducted, in which 381 medical prescriptions that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed. A data collection form was developed as the instrument, including four study indicators to determine the level of GPP compliance in the outpatient service. The following results were obtained: For GPP compliance regarding patient data, the level was medium at 58.8%, high at 29.7%, and low at 11.5%. For GPP compliance regarding medication data, the level was medium at 84.5%, low at 11%, and high at 4.5%. For GPP compliance regarding prescriber data, the level was medium at 78.5%, high at 21.2%, and low at 0.3%. For GPP compliance regarding legible handwriting, the level was low at 71%, with only 29% using legible handwriting. Based on the findings, it is concluded that the level of compliance with GPP in the outpatient service of the National Institute of Neurological Sciences was at a medium level in 2018.
