    Evaluación del cumplimiento de las buenas prácticas de prescripción de la especialidad de gastroenterología del Programa de Atención Domiciliaria del Adulto Mayor – EsSalud del periodo febrero–marzo 2016

    Compliance with Good Prescription Practices in the Gastroenterology Specialty of the Home Care Program for the Elderly – EsSalud was evaluated during the period February – March 2016. A cross-sectional, retrospective, observational, and descriptive study was conducted. A total of 397 medical prescriptions were analyzed. A data collection form was designed as an instrument, which included six study indicators to identify prescription errors. According to the results obtained, 90.4% of prescriptions included the patient’s full name, while 100% recorded the clinical history and ICD-10 code. Regarding therapeutic indications, it was found that 100% complied with the International Nonproprietary Name (INN) of the medications. In 97.5% of cases, the dosage and frequency of the medication were recorded, while 100% included the duration of treatment. Likewise, 100% of the medical prescriptions contained the prescriber’s data. The date of issue and expiration was present in 100% of prescriptions; however, only 6.0% of prescriptions were written legibly. It is concluded that good prescription practices were met, with patient and prescriber data being the indicators with the highest compliance.
