Not being alien to this reality, it is proposed to develop this thesis that seeks to determine the extent to which the development of motor skills improves the academic performance of the third grade students in the educational institution Escuela Superior Superior Cristo Rey de Barrancabermeja, Santander, Colombia. The research had a quantitative approach, with pre-experimental design, because the subject of study is a social research whose objective is to measure the incidence of one variable under study under the effect of another in a school context. A questionnaire designed for this purpose was used in a technical survey for the collection of information and that took into account the conceptual, procedural and attitudinal dimensions. Statistical methods are used for the analysis of the data, for this case t-student, with the purpose of exploring social relations and describing reality as experienced by their respective protagonists. Finally, with the development of motor skills and the report of the academic period, it can be observed that there was little or no incidence of the development of motor skills in the improvement of the conceptual, procedural and attitudinal dimensions of the students' third grade
