Ítem Acceso abierto Critical review: effects and importance of the hypobodic diet in patients with chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-11-28) Reupo Brenis, Elsa Piedad; Bohórquez Medina, Andrea LisbetCurrently, chronic kidney disease (CKD) is considered a public health problem, with diabetes and high blood pressure being the main causes of the appearance and progression of CKD, and cardiovascular diseases are among the main causes of mortality in this disease. Adherence to a low-sodium diet is undoubtedly one of the most important factors for the success of treatment and the well-being of hemodialysis patients. Lack of adherence may contribute to increased mortality in this population. Our objective was to estimate the available scientific information through a critical reading of it using the Critical Appraisal Skills Program Spanish (CASPE) tool in published studies on sodium restriction in the diet of patients with chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis. In the present critical review, the Evidence-Based Nutrition (NuBe) methodology was used and the article entitled Effects of Dietary Counseling on Sodium Restriction in Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease on Hemodialysis: A Randomized Clinical Trial was selected for the information search. which has a level of evidence II and a strong degree of recommendation at the discretion of the researcher.
