Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of reprocessed medical devices sterilized with low-temperature hydrogen peroxide plasma or ethylene oxide gas(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-12-04) Dávila Esteban, Gladys Cecilia; Reyes Muñoz de Antonio, Gladys; Calsin Pacompia, WilmerSystematize evidence on the effectiveness of reprocessed medical devices in low-temperature sterilization with hydrogen peroxide plasma or ethylene oxide gas. Materials and methods: The academic work responds to the quantitative approach and systematic review design with a population of 15 articles and 10 were taken as a sample. The instrument used was the search in databases such as Cochrane, Lilacs, Pubmed, Medline, Epistemonikos , Intramed and Scielo, the ten studies found according to the type of research, 10% (1/10) belong to a systematic review, 80% (8/10) are applied experimental and the 10% (1/10) transversal; 60% of the studies are from Brazil and 10% from Spain, Colombia, Peru and Taiwan respectively. To evaluate the articles, the GRADE Method was used, which measures the quality of evidence and the strength of recommendation. Results: Of the 10 articles reviewed, 70% (n=07/10) show that low temperature reprocessing with hydrogen peroxide plasma or ethylene oxide gas affects the operation of medical devices and has a direct positive correlation with the increase in the number of reprocessing.
