Currently, the population does not meet the adequate daily requirements of dietary fiber. This occurs not only in adults, but also in different stages of life, as well as in different countries. There are studies that show that consumption of dietary fiber helps prevent various diseases, one of them being overweight and obesity. The nutritional status of a person can be defined as the body's response to the nutritional intake it receives and its nutritional demands, whether adequate or inadequate. In the case of overweight and obesity, it could be said that it is a disease that occurs due to the excessive accumulation of fat in the body, damaging health. Since 1975, this disease has tripled worldwide. The recommendations provided to the population are that they can incorporate foods rich in dietary fiber into their diet in order to cover the adequate requirement per day.
