    Nursing care in the maintenance of the central venous catheter in adult critical units of the national cardiovascular institute INCOR 2020

    Objectives: To determine the level of nursing care in the maintenance of CVC in Adult Critical Care Units of the National Cardiovascular Institute INCOR. 2020. Materials and Methods: Quantitative approach, following a descriptive and cross-sectional model. The study's results will be useful as a reference for other researchers and as a basis for future studies related to the topic, both for its literature review and its obtained results, which will also allow the application of strategies to improve the quality of nursing care. The population in this study will consist of 85 nurses working in Adult Critical Care Units of the National Cardiovascular Institute, including UCC, UCIN, UCA Cardiology, and ICU, UCIN post-operative Cardiovascular services, who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The instrument to be used will be a checklist comprising 17 items grouped into 3 dimensions. The responses are dichotomous for each item; if a specific action is met, it will be considered YES, otherwise NO. Additionally, observations will be noted for any necessary remarks. The responses will be scored as follows: YES = 1 point NO = 0 points The score ranges from 0 to 17 points, resulting in 3 scales: Good care: 13 to 17 points Fair care: 6 to 12 points Poor care: 0 to 5 points
