Publicación Acceso abierto Motivación y desempeño laboral en enfermeros de un hospital en Lima, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-02-15) Rivera Villoda, Vanessa; Hermoza Moquillaza, Rocío VictoriaObjective: To determine the relationship between motivation and work performance in nurses of the emergency department of the Hospital Nacional PNP, Luis Nicasio Saenz, 2023. Materials and methods: An applied study was conducted with a quantitative approach and a non-experimental, cross-sectional, correlational design. The population of interest included 80 nurses of the emergency service, being a census-type sample. Data collection was performed by means of the survey and two questionnaires validated by expert judges, with reliability demonstrated by Cronbach's alpha coefficient for both job performance (α = .95) and motivation (α = .90). Results: At the descriptive level, a predominance of high levels was observed for both motivation (86.3%) and job performance (97.5%). The inferential results supported the hypothesis, revealing a direct and moderate relationship between motivation and work performance (p=.000, rho=.427). In addition, significant associations were found between motivation and job performance dimensions (p<.005). Conclusion: The findings indicated that, in the nursing context, higher motivation translates into higher job performance, suggesting that strengthening motivation may be an effective strategy to enhance the performance of these professionals.
