Publicación Acceso abierto Nivel de conocimiento y prácticas sobre medidas de bioseguridad frente al COVID-19 en los comerciantes del mercado Los Vencedores, San Juan de Lurigancho 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-02-16) Molina Cárdenas, Raquel Esther; Rodríguez Chambilla, Pedro Miguel; Ramos Jaco, Antonio GuillermoObjective: To analyze the relationship between the level of biosafety knowledge and the implementation of biosafety measures against COVID-19 among merchants in the San Juan de Lurigancho market in 2022. Materials and Methods: The study was descriptive, correlational, qualitative, and applied. Sample: It consisted of 276 merchants from the Los Vencedores market in San Juan de Lurigancho, who were surveyed. The data were then entered into the SPSS database. Results: Regarding biosafety knowledge related to COVID-19, 32.6% of respondents were aged 18-29 years, 61.2% were aged 35-59 years, and 6.2% were aged 60 years or older. By gender, 45.7% were female, and 54.3% were male. A medium level of biosafety knowledge was observed in 75% of respondents. Regarding the implementation of biosafety measures, 54.34% practiced adequate handwashing, 72.5% used protective barriers, 65.2% correctly disposed of bio-contaminated material, 34.7% disposed of contaminated material, and 54.34% adhered to social distancing measures. Conclusion: There is a relationship between the level of biosafety knowledge and the implementation of biosafety measures against COVID-19 among merchants in the San Juan de Lurigancho market in 2022.
