Publicación Acceso abierto Prevalencia y actitudes frente al consumo de los inhibidores de la fosfodiesterasa 5 en usuarios de la botica Virgen de la Asunción, distrito de Carabayllo, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-11-20) Ramirez Gonzales, Karina Gianella; Rodríguez Huamán, Yaqui; Parreño Tipián, Juan ManuelThe main objective of the study was “to determine the prevalence and attitudes toward the consumption of phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors among users of the Virgen de la Asunción Pharmacy, district of Carabayllo, 2023.” This was a basic research study, using the deductive method, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional, and descriptive-level design. The sample consisted of 165 users who attended the pharmacy under study, selected through simple random probability sampling. The technique applied was a survey, and the instrument used was a questionnaire. Results: It was found that the acquisition of phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors among users was mostly without a medical prescription (53.3%). Regarding the male sexual disorder dimension, the level was high (44.2%), while the risk factors dimension was moderate (70.9%). It was also determined that the risks assumed by users in consuming phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors were high (79.4%). Social environment had a strong influence among consumers (85.5%), and most consumed the drugs without clinical reasons (89.1%). Conclusion: The prevalence of consumption of phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors among users of the Virgen de la Asunción Pharmacy was high (64.8%), and consumer attitudes were found to be inadequate (85.5%).
