Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge and practices of the nursing professional in the intensive care unit on the care of pressure injuries in covid-19 patients under the effects of sedoanalgesia in a private clinic, Lima-2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-02-13) Rodriguez Chirinos, Ronald Harold; Gamarra Bustillos, CarlosThe appearance of pressure ulcers is an important indicator of the quality of care provided to hospitalized patients. They result from skin destruction and consequently necrosis of the underlying tissue, fat, and muscle. Objective: To determine the relationship between the knowledge and practices of nursing staff in the intensive care unit regarding the care of pressure ulcers in COVID-19 patients under sedoanalgesia effects in a private clinic in Lima, 2021. Methods: Observational, cross-sectional, and correlational. The population and sample will consist of 15 licensed nurses specializing in ICU at the Maison de Sante Private Clinic in Lima. Two instruments will be used: a questionnaire (Knowledge Questionnaire on Risk Factors for Pressure Ulcers) and a checklist extracted from the WHO nursing protocol for pressure ulcer management (Practices in managing pressure ulcers); these will collect data to be processed in order to determine the relationship between both variables: knowledge and practices in an intensive care unit concerning the care of pressure ulcers in COVID-19 patients.
