    Medication errors account for approximately 16%, equivalent to 80,000 deaths per year. This problem is linked to multiple factors that converge to produce a severely negative impact on both the patient and the healthcare system. The present research aims to provide information on prescription errors so that healthcare facilities can implement protocols to help reduce the error rate. Objective: To evaluate prescription errors in the prescriptions processed at the outpatient pharmacy of the Naval Medical Center during the period from January to March 2021. Methodology: This is an applied study with a deductive method and an observational, retrospective, cross-sectional design. A data collection form was used to analyze a sample of 336 prescriptions from a population of 2,700 prescriptions processed at the outpatient pharmacy of the Naval Medical Center during the period from January to March 2021. The evaluation was carried out by analyzing 16 indicators grouped into four dimensions: patient data, prescriber data, medication data, and legibility. Results: The percentages of errors were 9.38%, 18.82%, 47.27%, and 38.99% for the dimensions of patient data, prescriber data, medication data, and legibility, respectively. Conclusion: The prescriptions processed at the outpatient pharmacy of the Naval Medical Center during the period from January to March 2021 presented errors in all prescriptions analyzed.
