Publicación Acceso abierto Relación de transaminasas y bilirrubinas en personas adultas de Chilca, año 2018(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-12-10) Huamani Pineda, Jessica; Rojas Capcha, Yanet Katherine; Parreño Tipián, Juan ManuelThe objective of this research study was to determine the relationship between transaminases and bilirubins in adults from Chilca, 2018. A total of 183 blood samples were analyzed. Among the participants, 79% (n=145) were female. Results showed that 6.6% (n=12) of individuals had elevated direct bilirubin, 7.7% (n=14) had elevated indirect bilirubin, and the same proportion was observed for total bilirubin. Regarding transaminases, 1.1% of cases presented elevated AST, with a population estimate of less than 2.6%, while 6.6% (n=12) presented elevated ALT, with a population estimate ranging from 3.0% to 10.1%. A significant relationship was found between transaminases and bilirubins, the strongest correlations being ALT–Total Bilirubin (r=0.445) and ALT–Direct Bilirubin (r=0.417). Conclusion: AST and ALT values are positively and significantly correlated with direct, indirect, and total bilirubin levels (p < 0.05).
