Ítem Acceso abierto Efficiency of therapeutic hypothermia for the treatment of endocranial hypertension in the intensive care unit(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-02-07) Torres Ochoa, Araceli Yvonne; Rojas Ramos, Luz Fiorella; Bastidas Solis, Miriam CeciliaThe work carried out is a quantitative observational and retrospective systematic review, subjected to critical selection, using the Grade evaluation system to identify the degree of evidence, found in the following databases: PubMed, Sciencedirect, Cochrane, Scielo, Wiley Online Library, Elsevier, Epistemonikos. Of the 10 articles systematically reviewed, 50% (n= 5/10) are randomized controlled trials, 20% (n= 2/10) are meta-analyses; 20% (n= 2/10) are systematic reviews and 10% (n= 1/10) are cross-sectional descriptive. According to the results obtained from the systematic review carried out in the present study; They come from China (30%), the United Kingdom (20%), Mexico (10%), Colombia (10%), the United States (10%), Australia (10%), and Korea (10%). Results: Of the evidence found, 80% (n=8/10) shows therapeutic hypothermia efficiency for the treatment of intracranial hypertension in the intensive care unit, and 20% (n=2/10) evidence that it is not efficient. Conclusion: Therapeutic hypothermia is efficient for the treatment of intracranial hypertension, because it reduces ICP.
