Materials and Methods: Systematic Review is made up of 10 scientific articles on the benefits related to late clamping of the umbilical cord in neonates, which were found in the Lilacs, Scielo, Pubmed, Medline and BVS databases. Results: In the review carried out, 90% of the studies reviewed agree that late clamping of the umbilical cord improves the hematological status and adaptation of the newborn without complications. 10% report that there are no significant differences between one practice or another, so the most physiological should be practiced. Conclusions: 100% of the articles reviewed demonstrate the benefits related to late clamping of the umbilical cord in neonates, improving hematological status, thus reducing the risk of neonatal anemia, specifying that early clamping is not associated with neonatal anemia.
