Ítem Acceso abierto Workplace violence against nurses.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017) Chávez Porles, Griselda Ana; Román Aramburú, Ana María; Calsin Pacompia, WilmerObjective: The aim of the study is to systematize the available evidence on violence against nurses in the workplace. Materials and Methods: The study is a systematic review with an observational and retrospective design. It was based on a bibliographic search in indexed databases, taking into account a total of 10 articles that met the inclusion criteria. Results: It was found that the prevalence of workplace violence differs in each region worldwide, with Eastern Europe being the area with the highest prevalence. The most common form of aggression was verbal, primarily exercised by the head nurse. Conclusions: Workplace violence manifests in various forms, such as workplace harassment, physical, and psychological aggression. The systematic review of the 9 scientific articles showed that 5 were systematic reviews and 4 were descriptive, analytical, and correlational studies. 100% of the studies demonstrated some type of violence toward nursing professionals, with a prevalence ranging from 5.7% to 94%.
