Materials and Methods: The study has a quantitative, descriptive approach, with a cross-sectional design. The population consists of 60 family caregivers of patients attended at a Community Mental Health Center in Lima. The instrument used is the Zarit Scale. This scale contains 22 items, each of which is a statement that caregivers rate using a 5-point scale, helping measure the level of burden. Additionally, the nurse's role is to provide support, education, and guidance to caregivers and patients with schizophrenia. Furthermore, nurses educate families through sessions on mental health issues and how to act to prevent caregiver burden. Nurses in mental health help promote and support recovery, allowing individuals to participate more actively in managing their condition.
