Ítem Acceso abierto Cognitive dysfunction in the elderly adult who goes to the tayta wasi health center 2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-08-22) Romero Aguilar, Isabel Elena; Fuentes Siles, María AngélicaObjective: to determine cognitive dysfunction in older adults who attend the Tayta Wasi health center in 2019. Material and methods: the study was quantitative with a non-experimental design and according to its temporal scope it is cross-sectional and the sample was 150 older adults, who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria raised in the research. The technique used was the survey and data was obtained through the 25-item Minimental instrument. Results: it was observed with respect to total cognitive dysfunction in older adults who attend said center, that mild cognitive dysfunction predominates (68 older adults representing 45.3%). Total cognitive dysfunction according to dimensions in older adults attending the Tayta Wasi Health Center, the highest percentage in the dimension orientation in time presents a mild state in 31.3%, in orientation in space it is presented without cognitive dysfunction in 50.6%, in registration and fixation it is presented without cognitive dysfunction in 71.3%, in attention and calculation there is moderate cognitive dysfunction in 38.6%, in evocation and memory it is presented without cognitive dysfunction in 88% and in language there is a moderate cognitive dysfunction in 50%. Conclusions: older adults who attend the Tayta Wasi Health Center presented mild total cognitive dysfunction. Regarding their dimensions, older adults presented a moderate cognitive dysfunction in a higher percentage in the language dimension, followed by severe dysfunction in the attention and calculation dimension and finally without dysfunction prevailed the highest percentage in the evocation-memory dimension.
