Ítem Acceso abierto Diagnostic performance of hematological indices in the indentification of severity and mortality of patients with dengue, Hospital II-2 Tarapoto, periodo 2021-2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-04-28) Lazo Grández, Bernarda; Rosales Rimache, Jaime AlfonsoDengue is a febrile viral disease transmitted by the bite of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. It is one of the most common tropical diseases and a serious public health problem worldwide. Patients with dengue begin as asymptomatic until they show signs such as high fever, general discomfort, rash on upper and lower limbs, and it can progress to severe hemorrhagic fever and shock syndrome if not detected and treated timely. Diagnosis is made through laboratory tests using screening techniques such as rapid immunochromatographic methods, ELISA to detect IgM, IgG, NS1 antigen, and molecular methods like PCR for confirmation. However, the effectiveness of treatment and monitoring of the disease is subject to periodic laboratory test evaluations, including a complete blood count, where parameters tend to be altered, such as thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, presence of atypical lymphocytes, elevated hematocrit, and hemoglobin concentration. It also allows for calculating indices to evaluate the systemic inflammatory response to different diseases.Ítem Acceso abierto Longitudinal analysis of hematological parameters, CD4+ and CD8+ count and viral load in patients with HIV care at the Chanchamayo hospital, period 2022-2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-06-23) Cortez Estrada, Lizeth Del Rosario; Rosales Rimache, Jaime AlfonsoHIV infection remains a global public health issue, with therapeutic management dependent on antiretroviral medications. However, treatment effectiveness is subject to regular monitoring via laboratory tests, including CD4/CD8 counts, viral load, and other hematological parameters. Objective: To evaluate the relationship between significant longitudinal changes in hematological parameters with CD4+ and CD8+ counts and viral load in HIV patients treated at the Chanchamayo Hospital during 2022-2023. Materials and Methods: A retrospective longitudinal study involving medical history and laboratory reports, with demographic and clinical data reviewed. Statistical analysis will use SPSS version 25.
