Materials and Method: This study is quantitative, correlational, non-experimental, and cross-sectional. The study group consisted of 40 mastectomized patients. The instruments used were the SF-36 quality of life questionnaire and a body image questionnaire. Results: 80% of mastectomized patients were in the average quality of life category. However, when results were analyzed by dimensions, 32.5% were in the low category for physical function, followed by a very low score in physical role and emotional role, with 70% and 80%, respectively. Regarding body image, 60% of patients had an unfavorable image, and 100% presented an unfavorable body image in both the physical appearance and psychological aspects.
