Hospital Nacional categoría III-1, Lima 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-07-03) Sáenz Naupari, Lorena Mirella; Velásquez Acosta, Pablo MáximoThe objective of the study was to determine the relationship between nutritional status at admission and morbidity, mortality, and length of hospital stay in patients in the Intensive Care Unit of a Category III-1 National Hospital, Lima, 2023. This was a prospective, observational, descriptive study with correlational characteristics. Medical records of critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit of a Category III-1 National Hospital were studied between February and May of 2023. Data were collected using a validated instrument and coded using SPSS software. Spearman's rho correlation test was used for hypothesis testing. A statistically significant relationship was found between nutritional status and mortality, morbidity, and length of hospital stay in the biochemical parameter of albumin level, with a p-value < 0.05. This relationship was not observed in the hematological parameter of hemoglobin level." which presents a p-value > 0.05. It was concluded that there is a significant relationship between nutritional status at admission and morbidity, mortality, and length of hospital stay in patients in the Intensive Care Unit of a Category III-1 National Hospital, Lima 2023.
