    The primary purpose of the study sought to determine the existence of a relationship between emotional intelligence and motivation to study in undergraduate students of a private university in the city of Lima, during the year 2023, where the quantitative approach, non-experimental design, was worked. descriptive correlational type and the affirmative hypotheses that were applied in 100 students are convenience sample tested sample that was measured through the survey technique and questionnaire-type instruments adapted from Yábar (2021) from the original questionnaires of the Bar-on EI inventory. and MSLQ motivation test, which were validated by five methodological, statistical and thematic experts, and statistical reliability of .874 and .830 was found according to Cronbach's Alpha; Finally, the most important result of the research showed that the analyzed variables are related in a positive and significant way, according to a value (Rho = .812) in the individuals object of the study, which reveals that it is very strongly It is probable that the greater the identification, management and dosage of emotions, the greater the motivation from an academic point of view in the undergraduate physical therapy and rehabilitation students examined; and vice versa.
