Errores de prescripciones en recetas médicas de establecimientos farmacéuticos en el contexto del COVID-19 del distrito de Bellavista de la Provincia Constitucional del Callao, primer semestre 2021

The general objective of this research was to evaluate prescribing errors in medical prescriptions from pharmaceutical establishments in the context of COVID-19 in the Bellavista district, Constitutional Province of Callao, during the first semester of 2021. The theoretical framework was based on the Manual of Good Prescribing Practices of the Ministry of Health (2005). The methodology used was an analytical method, with a quantitative approach and an applied type. The design was non-experimental, cross-sectional, and descriptive. The study population was unknown, so a probabilistic sampling with replacement for infinite populations was chosen. This resulted in the evaluation of 384 medical prescriptions using a data collection form that was validated by expert judgment. Results: It was found that 99.5% (n=382) of medical prescriptions did not comply with at least one of the data points required by the manual of good pharmaceutical practices. 80.7% (n=310) had errors related to patient data, 29.2% (n=112) had omissions in medication data, 43.2% (n=166) omitted prescriber data, and 96.1% (n=369) omitted information on medical indications. Conclusion: The high incidence of prescribing errors is due to the omission of key indicators such as prescription validity, patient age, medication route of administration, patient diagnosis, and the specialist's national registry number.
