Publicación Acceso abierto Factores asociados a la aceptación de la vacuna COVID-19 en pobladores del sector VI – distrito de Villa El Salvador – Lima Metropolitana, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-11-25) Sánchez Luyo, Zoila Nelly; Parreño Tipián, Juan ManuelThe objective of the research is to determine the factors associated with the acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine among residents of Sector VI in the district of Villa El Salvador, Metropolitan Lima, 2022. Methodology: Using the hypothetical-deductive method, with a quantitative approach, basic correlational, and cross-sectional design. Two questionnaires were applied to a sample of 289 residents to evaluate the factors associated with COVID-19 infection and the acceptance of COVID-19 vaccines. Results: A predominance of medium (53.29%) and low (46.71%) levels of factors associated with COVID-19 vaccination was observed, along with medium (63.32%) and high (30.10%) levels of acceptance of this vaccine. Additionally, medium levels for both variables were reported by 38.75% of respondents. Factors significantly associated with vaccine acceptance included: Sociodemographic factor: ‘occupation’ (p=0.000) Direct factors: ‘infection’ (p=0.000) and ‘side effects’ (p=0.001) Family risk factor: ‘infection from family members’ (p=0.000) Social risk factors: ‘individual transportation’ (p=0.030), ‘transport dependency’ (p=0.009), ‘social distancing’ (p=0.000), and ‘handwashing’ (p=0.000) Knowledge and belief risk factors: ‘immunity through infection’ (p=0.001), ‘vaccine efficacy’ (p=0.000), ‘type of side effects’ (p=0.015), ‘immune system protection’ (p=0.000), ‘disparity in health professionals’ arguments’ (p=0.004), and ‘fear of needles’ (p=0.004). Conclusion: Out of the 25 factors involved, 14 (56.00%) are significantly associated with the acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine among residents of Sector VI in the district of Villa El Salvador, Metropolitan Lima, 2022.
