    Experiential avoidance and psychological discomfort in school teachers in Metropolitan Lima, 2021

    The aim of this research was to understand the relationship between experiential avoidance and psychological distress in teachers from schools in Metropolitan Lima. The sample consisted of 155 teachers, predominantly in contracted positions. The study followed a descriptive-correlational approach with a non-experimental design. The instruments used were the K6 Psychological Distress Scale and the Experiential Avoidance Questionnaire. The results showed statistically significant correlations (rho = .60; p = .00), with a significant relationship between depression and anxiety dimensions and experiential avoidance (p < .05). Teachers with higher experiential avoidance behaviors tend to exhibit more psychological distress symptoms.
