Ítem Acceso abierto Efficacy of parental involvement in the care of preterm infants in neonatal units(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-07-08) Salazar Alvarado, Betty Isabel; Cruz Gamarra, Dominga Macaria; Calsin Pacompia, WilmerObjective: Analyze the evidence found from the studies carried out on the participation of parents in the care of premature babies in neonatal units. Materials and Methods: It is a systematic review design, with a population of 60 articles and a sample of 10 published articles: 10% from Spain, 10% from Mexico, 20% from Iran, 10% from Venezuela, 20% from the United States, 10% Italy, 10% Taiwan, 10% Canada. In the designs we have 10% descriptive, 40% transversal, 30% case control, and 20% clinical trial; in a database: Scielo, Pubmade, Medline, Lilacs, for review the GRADE method is used which evaluates the quality of evidence and strength of recommendation. Results: 80% demonstrate that it is effective, strengthening the emotional bond and the development of the newborn. 20% is not effective, it is related to the lack of communication between health personnel and parents and also their stress factor. Conclusions: Parental participation is effective because it strengthens the emotional bond, growth and development of the premature baby, with health personnel playing an important role in providing confidence and security during the training of parents to care for the baby. It is not effective when the contact of the newborn with his parents is limited and when there is a lack of communication between them and the health team.
