Ítem Acceso abierto Efficacy of the use of self-adhesive mesh versus conventional mesh in the prevention of postoperative complications of inguinal hernioplasty in the general surgery service(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 1905-07-09) Salazar Malquichagua, Milena Nilsa; Llactahuamán Gómez, Felicita; Gómez Gonzales, Walter EdgarObjectives: Determine the effectiveness of using self-adhesive mesh versus conventional mesh in post-inguinal hernioplasty patients. Methodology/Methods: Systematic reviews are the best effort to compile and synthesize scientific evidence on the topic, through a method that ensures that the biases and limitations that we have mentioned in 8 scientific articles published and indexed in the databases, which corresponds to articles published in Spanish. Results: In the final selection, 8 articles were chosen, we found that 20% (02) correspond to Chile, and 10% (1) in Mexico, Spain, Bolivia, Colombia, USA, Cuba respectively. Among the articles we have (6) experimental, quasi-experimental (1), cases and controls (1). Where the total of articles analyzed 60% affirm that the use of self-adhesive mesh compared to conventional mesh is long-term benefit in hernias inguinal. Conclusions: It was evident in the reviewed research that there is effectiveness of self-adhesive mesh and polypropylene mesh in preventing postoperative complications in inguinal hernia with supposed benefits in reducing surgical time and reducing postoperative pain without increasing the number of complications or recurrences.
