Design: This study was a qualitative systematic review, involving an electronic search of various articles related to sociodemographic and obstetric factors in premature rupture of membranes and its perinatal complications. Study setting: For the development of this systematic review, a methodical compilation of scientific articles published in different academic databases was carried out. Indexed journals and other periodical publications were also used. The study selected various cohort, case-control, and cross-sectional articles published between 2017 and 2021. Subjects: The study included 30 scientific articles. Findings: Premature rupture of membranes and perinatal complications are dependent variables, while obstetric and sociodemographic risk factors are independent variables. Conclusions: Based on the evidence from this systematic review, it can be affirmed that sociodemographic and obstetric factors do indeed influence premature rupture of membranes and its associated perinatal complications.
