Actividad antimicrobiana del aceite esencial de Origanum vulgare L. “orégano peruano” frente a Staphylococcus aureus
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-05-31) Salinas Segura, Roger; Carhuapoma Yance, Mario
The objective of this research was to confirm the antimicrobial activity of the essential oil of Origanum vulgare L., "Peruvian Oregano," against Staphylococcus aureus. The essential oil was obtained by steam distillation and purified with anhydrous sodium sulfate. The analysis of the main phytochemical components of the oil was performed using organoleptic and instrumental methods. The antimicrobial activity was assayed against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538 using the disk diffusion method (Kirby-Bauer), with Gentamicin 10 µg (OXOID brand) as the positive control and dimethyl sulfoxide as the negative control. Results: The essential oil had a good yield of 2.02%, distilled in 60 minutes, with a density of 0.9132 g/mL and a refractive index of 1.475. The main components were carvacrol and thymol. The essential oil of Origanum vulgare L. showed antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538, with inhibition halos of 11.47,13.40,16.60, and 19.65 mm at concentrations of 25,50,75, and 100 µg/mL, respectively. The gentamicin control resulted in an inhibition halo of 30.14 mm. Conclusion: The highest antimicrobial activity of the essential oil of Origanum vulgare L. "Peruvian Oregano" against Staphylococcus aureus was confirmed at 100 µg/mL.

Cumplimiento de buenas practicas de almacenamiento y procedimientos operativos en droguerias que contratan el servicio de almacenamiento en Somefarm S.A.C. Lima – 2021
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-09-24) Salinas Segura, Roger; Aquino Comun, Mery
The objective of this research was to determine the level of compliance with Good Storage Practices (GSP) for the proposal and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in drugstores that contract third-party storage services at Somefarm S.A.C., Lima-2021. Method: The method was deductive, with an applied type, quantitative approach, descriptive level, longitudinal scope, and non-experimental design. The instrument used was the inspection guide for drugstores, specialized warehouses, and customs warehouses that store Pharmaceutical Products, approved by Ministerial Resolution (R.M.) N° 132-2015/MINSA. Results: The general level of GSP compliance was initially low to medium, with only 35% of drugstores at a high level, 55% at a medium level, and 10% at a low level. Compliance with GSP based on SOPs was also measured, with only 30% of drugstores at a high level, 50% at a medium level, and 20% at a low level. Following these initial results, 21 SOPs and two manuals were implemented in the deficient drugstores, and GSP compliance was measured again. The general compliance level improved, with 50% of drugstores now at a high level, 35% at a medium level, and 15% at a low level. Compliance with GSP based on SOPs also improved, with 60% of drugstores at a high level, 25% at a medium level, and 15% at a low level. Conclusion: The implementation of SOPs improves the level of compliance with GSP.

Factores asociados al tiempo de espera a ser atendido en establecimientos de Salud Enaho 2020
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-01-30) Salinas Segura, Roger; Arellano Sacramento, César
Objective: to determine the factors associated with the waiting time to be attended in health facilities in Peru according to ENAHO 2020. Materials and method: Quantitative, Explanatory, non-experimental, cross-sectional Analytical study using the secondary database of the National Household Survey of Peru, 2020. (ENAHO-annual) being probabilistic, stratified, multi-stage at the national level. The dependent variable was "waiting time in minutes" to be attended in consultation; being dichotomized into adequate and inadequate. The variables to be considered were grouped into three sociodemographic, cultural and health factors. Expansion factors were used. Binomial logistic regression (crude and adjusted OR) and the F-Independence test corrected for complex samples were used for the calculation. An alpha value of 0.05 was considered. Results: 69% had an adequate waiting time. In the model, a significant association was found with sociodemographic factor in geographic domain (Metropolitan Lima) and with age (53 to 66 years). No significant difference was found neither with cultural factor nor with health. Conclusion: the majority of users had an adequate waiting time. An association was found between waiting time with geographic domain and age.
