May to December 2014.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2015) Sanchez Bernardo, Lita Jeanette; Salazar De La Torre, Milagros EmperatrizAccording to the WHO, biosafety measures are a set of standards and protocols designed to protect the health of personnel from biological, chemical, and physical risks encountered in the performance of their duties, as well as to safeguard patients and the environment. This research study, titled "Knowledge of Biosafety Measures among Nursing Professionals at the Emergency Service, Rebagliati Hospital, May to December 2014," aimed to describe the level of knowledge of biosafety measures among nursing professionals at the Emergency Service, Rebagliati Hospital, from May to December 2014. Study Type: Quantitative descriptive method with a cross-sectional design. Sample: 50 nurses working in the adult emergency service at Rebagliati Martins Hospital. Instrument: A biosafety knowledge questionnaire, validated through expert judgment. The data were analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 program. Results and conclusions indicate that most nursing staff at the Emergency Service at Rebagliati Hospital exhibit a medium level of knowledge regarding biosafety measures. Furthermore, nursing professionals aged 26 to 35, without training during the year, and those working for 5 to 10 years in the hospital, predominantly show medium levels of knowledge regarding biosafety measures.
