Risk factors and prevalence of nosocomial infections in the intensive care unit of a hospital, Lima 2023

Introduction: There are risk factors that allow the patient to suffer from nosocomial or intrahospital infections in hospitals, even more so in the intensive care unit, these can appear within 48 hours of the patient's admission. The research work had as Objective: To determine the relationship of risk factors and the prevalence of intrahospital infections in the intensive care unit of a hospital, Lima 2023. Method: The working method is hypothetical - deductive, with a quantitative approach, of an applied type and a descriptive, prospective and observational level, with a non-experimental cross-sectional design and also a correlational one. The population will be the patients of the first semester hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit in the year 2023, these being the number of 100 being the sample of 50 chosen at random guided by the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The technique to be used will be the survey and the guide, the instruments being a questionnaire and the technical sheets extracted from the patients' medical records. The data collected will be processed in the statistical package SPSS version 26, in this package the tables and figures that will be interpreted will be made, also in the same package the statistical test of the Spearman's Rho correlation coefficient will be used to test the hypotheses.
