(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2015) Blas Aguilar, Diana Patricia; Rosas Casique, Diana Beatriz; Santiago Abregú, Sonia
The onset of adolescence tests the functioning of the family system. The study titled "Family Functionality Related to the Onset of Sexual Activity in Adolescents in the 4th Year of Secondary School at I.E. Fe y Alegría No. 10 Comas-2015" aimed to determine the relationship between family functionality and the onset of sexual activity in adolescents. The research design was quantitative, descriptive, correlational, and cross-sectional. Among the relevant findings, no statistically significant relationship was found between family functionality and the onset of sexual activity (p=0.217). Regarding family functionality, 73% of adolescents came from families with a low level of family functionality. Concerning the onset of sexual activity, 13% of the population had started their sexual activity; of this percentage, 38% began at 14 years of age, with 67% being male, who initiated sexual activity more frequently. The study concludes that most adolescents come from families with low family functionality, and few have started sexual activity. Furthermore, no significant relationship was found between the level of family functionality and the onset of sexual activity.

(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2015) Coaquira Toribio, Tania Viviana; Tello Cóndor, Luzmila Nancy; Santiago Abregú, Sonia
The present study aims to determine the level of knowledge about hypertension in adults attended in the Medicine service at the Huaycan Hospital. Material and Methods: This is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design, involving a sample of 50 patients with hypertension admitted to the Medicine service during the year 2014. The reliability of the instrument was assessed using Cronbach's Alpha statistical tests, and the data were entered into the SPSS 19 software. Results: Regarding the level of knowledge about hypertension in users of the Huaycan Hospital, it was evident that they have an average level of knowledge. In terms of knowledge about hypertension by age group, adults aged 40-60 years predominated with an average level of knowledge. In the dimension of knowledge about hypertension by gender, it was observed that both female and male participants showed predominance of an average knowledge level, with 48% and 47%, respectively. Regarding knowledge of the conceptual aspects of hypertension, it was noted that the majority of the population was unaware of the definition of hypertension. In terms of knowledge of the clinical manifestations of hypertension, it was observed that the participants were more unaware of the symptoms than the signs of hypertension. Regarding knowledge of the risk factors of hypertension, it was identified that 80% were unaware that the age group most vulnerable to hypertension is 45-55 years old and that the Black race tends to suffer from hypertension earlier in life. In the dimension of knowledge about the complications of hypertension, it was noted that most people were unaware that the most vital organs (heart, eyes, and kidneys) are damaged by hypertension. Regarding knowledge of hypertension prevention, it was identified that participants were unaware of the frequency at which blood pressure should be monitored, the existence of relaxation programs, that smoking increases blood pressure, the recommended duration of physical activity (30-45 minutes), and that people with hypertension can exercise.
