    Importance of sexual education and contraceptive methods for decreasing pregnancy in adolescents.

    Objective: To systematize evidence about the importance of sexual education and contraception in reducing pregnancy rates among adolescents. Materials and Methods: Observational and retrospective systematic review that summarizes the results of multiple primary studies, identifying key studies to answer specific clinical practice questions. The review focused on full-text articles and critical reading using the GRADE system to assign strength of recommendations. Results: Ten articles were selected, with 30% (3) from Spain, 20% (2) from Cuba, and 10% (1) from Costa Rica, Ecuador, Brazil, Chile, and Colombia. Most studies were observational and descriptive cross-sectional (50%), with 10% being systematic reviews from Spain, and the remaining 50% were descriptive cross-sectional studies from Spain, Mexico, and Cuba. Conclusions: Of the 10 articles analyzed, 90% support the importance of sexual education and contraception in reducing adolescent pregnancies.
