Material and Method: The systematic review of the 10 scientific articles about the effectiveness of the management of sedoanalgesia protocols by nursing for the reduction of time in mechanical ventilation in intubated patients in the ICU located in the following databases Cochrane, Lilacs, Scielo , Medline Pubmed, Google Scholar being analyzed according to the Grade scale to determine its strength and quality of evidence. Results: Of the 10 articles, 40% (4/10) correspond to systematic reviews (2) and clinical trials (2), 30% (3/10) cohort studies and 30% (3/10) studies control. 80% of the reviewed articles demonstrate the effectiveness of nursing sedation protocol management to reduce time on mechanical ventilation in intubated patients. Conclusions: 80% of the articles demonstrated that the management of sedoanalgesia protocols by nursing is effective in reducing time in mechanical ventilation, highlighting the important role that the nurse plays in this process according to an assertive assessment.
