    Inconvenience musculoskeletal and its relationship with the quality of sleep in the special command staff – VRAEM – Pichari, 2023

    There are various psychosocial factors related to musculoskeletal discomfort, one of which is sleep quality. In fact, the prevalence of poor sleep quality is high in most of the population, with figures close to 60%. Personnel from the Special Command – VRAEM are prone to sleep quality alterations, with poor sleep quality prevalence in Brazil at 63.6%. In Colombia, the prevalence of poor sleep quality among military personnel is 44.58%. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between musculoskeletal discomfort and sleep quality among personnel from the Special Command – VRAEM – Pichari, 2023. A quantitative, observational, correlational, cross-sectional study was conducted. The sample included 80 personnel from the Special Command – VRAEM – Pichari in 2023. The instruments used were the Nordic Questionnaire and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index. The results showed an average age of 30.69 years. A higher percentage of personnel had poor sleep quality (72.5%), and a greater proportion had no musculoskeletal discomfort (67.5%). A p-value of 0.579 was found when relating musculoskeletal discomfort and sleep quality. It was concluded that there is no statistically significant relationship between musculoskeletal discomfort and sleep quality in personnel from the Special Command – VRAEM – Pichari, 2023.
