Therefore, the objective of this research was to evaluate the quality of life of patients diagnosed with melasma who were seen at a specialized pharmaceutical office in the district of Jesús María during August and September 2018. Method: This was a cross-sectional observational study conducted over a two-month period. A total of 148 patients were surveyed using the MelasQoL questionnaire, which consists of 10 questions and was validated in Colombia for patients with melasma. Results: The average age of the patients was 38.74 years (SD +/-10.032). Of the total, 83.8% (n=124) were female and 16.2% (n=24) were male. The age range of 31–40 years included the largest number of patients (n=62, 41.9%). The study found that 39.20% (n=58) of patients reported a severe impact on their quality of life, while 15.5% (n=23) reported a very severe impact. Additionally, more than 50% of the patients reported discomfort with their skin's appearance and feelings of frustration.
