Ítem Acceso abierto Critical review: Effectiveness of omega-3 fatty acid supplementation in reducing blood pressure in adults with hypertension(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-12-05) Serrano Rojas, Marlene Reyna; León Cáceres, Johanna del CarmenThe nutritional intervention is to publicize the “Effectiveness of supplementation with omega 3 fatty acids in reducing blood pressure in adults with high blood pressure”, The present secondary research titled as a critical review: “Effectiveness of supplementation with omega 3 fatty acids 3 in reducing blood pressure in adults with high blood pressure”, aimed to identify whether supplementation with omega 3 fatty acids reduces blood pressure in adults with high blood pressure. The clinical question was: Does omega-3 fatty acid supplementation reduce blood pressure in adults with high blood pressure? The Evidence-Based Nutrition (NuBE) methodology was used. The information search was carried out in PUBMED, finding 30 articles, 10 were selected that have been evaluated by the CASPE critical reading tool, finally selecting the Randomized Clinical Trial entitled "Reduction of the effects of n-3 fatty acid supplements on blood pressure by reducing plasma Angiotensin II of hypertensive patients from Inner Mongolia: A double-blind randomized controlled trial” which has a level of evidence I and Grade of Recommendation I, according to the researcher's expertise. The critical comment allowed us to conclude that blood pressure can be reduced by consuming omega 3 supplements.
