Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge and practices of steam sterilization in the Nursing staff of the sterilization center of a public Hospital in Lima, 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-05-05) Sifuentes Martínez, Nataly Rosa; Camarena Chamaya, Luis MiguelIntroduction: Steam sterilization is one of the most widely used and economical methods in sterilization centers around the world; therefore, it is important that nursing staff working in this area have knowledge of the sterilization process using this method. Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the steam sterilization practices performed by nursing staff in the sterilization center of a public hospital in Metropolitan Lima, 2024. Methods: Applied, quantitative, correlational, and cross-sectional study. The census sample will consist of 60 participants, including nursing graduates and nursing technicians. To collect data on the steam sterilization knowledge variable, a validated questionnaire (binomial result: V.C = 8.47 > V.T. 1.64) will be applied to nursing staff, and for the steam sterilization practice variable, a validated checklist will be used (WMD = 1.72). The collected data will be processed in SPSS 27, where descriptive and inferential statistics will be performed.
