Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of nursing educational interventions in preventing nosocomial infections in adults hospitalized in intensive care units.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017-08-05) Jorge Pajuelo, Diana Edith; Siguas Torres, Fiorella Elizabeth; Bonilla Asalde, César AntonioObjective: To evaluate the evidence on nursing educational interventions in the prevention of nosocomial infections in adult patients hospitalized in intensive care units, published since 2013. Materials and Methods: Systematic, observational, and retrospective review, synthesizing the results of multiple primary investigations. These are an essential part of evidence-based nursing due to their rigorous methodology, identifying relevant studies to answer specific questions in clinical practice. The search was restricted to full-text articles, and the selected articles underwent critical reading, using the GRADE system to assign the strength of recommendation. Results: In the final selection, 10 articles were chosen, with 40% (04) from the U.S., 30% (03) from Europe, 10% (01) from Taiwan, 10% (01) from Brazil, and 10% (01) from Chile. Most studies were systematic reviews 09 (90%) and experimental 01 (10%). The article databases searched were: Pubmed 60% (06), Scielo 30% (03), and Dialnet 10% (01). Nursing educational interventions such as the application of Bundles (measure packages) in the prevention of hospital infections, the use of reminder systems, audits in practice and knowledge of health personnel, training sessions, feedback, staff engagement strategies, and organizational changes reduce the incidence of nosocomial infections associated with central venous catheters, ventilator-associated pneumonia, and urinary tract infections.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of nursing educational interventions in preventing nosocomial infections in adults hospitalized in intensive care units.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017-08-05) Jorge Pajuelo, Diana Edith; Siguas Torres, Fiorella Elizabeth; Bonilla Asalde, César AntonioObjective: To evaluate the evidence on nursing educational interventions in the prevention of nosocomial infections in adult patients hospitalized in intensive care units, published since 2013.
