    Effective interventions in managing anxiety and depression in patients with chronic renal failure undergoing dialysis treatment.

    The present study is quantitative and the study design is a systematic review. The instruments used were the following databases: Scielo, Epistemonikos, and PubMed. The population consisted of 35 reviewed articles, from which a sample of 10 articles was selected. Results: In our study, we found that 90% of the reviewed articles state that effective interventions for the management of anxiety and depression are primarily multidisciplinary work that includes psychotherapeutic strategies and family and social support; only one article refers to physical activity, rather than psychological therapy, as significantly decreasing anxious and depressive symptoms. Conclusions: The effective interventions for managing anxiety and depression in patients with renal failure undergoing dialysis are: multidisciplinary work, family and social support, nursing counseling, and physical activity.
