    Cumplimento de las buenas prácticas de prescripción a las recetas atendidas en la farmacia de consultorio externo del Instituto Nacional Materno Perinatal de enero–marzo 2020

    An evaluation instrument was applied to a base of 414 unique standardized prescriptions filled at the outpatient pharmacy from January to March 2020. Non-compliance with good prescribing practices was demonstrated in the following main aspects: Medication Data (59%), Patient Data (35%), and Prescriber Data (6%). A detailed breakdown of patient data errors on the prescriptions showed non-compliance in clinical history at 27%, diagnosis at 26%, and patient name and age at 24%. Errors in medication data were observed as follows: pharmaceutical form at 15%, route of administration at 14%, correct concentration and duration at 13%, and frequency at 11%. Errors related to the total quantity prescribed, the International Nonproprietary Name (INN), compliance with the National Essential Medicines List, and the commercial name were observed at 10% and 4%, respectively. Finally, errors in prescriber data on the prescriptions were observed at 14%.
