Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge and practice of self-care in hypertensive adults attending the Magdalena Maternal and Child Health Center in the Magdalena del Mar district, Lima - 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-10-14) Sirlopu Salazar, Ruth Esther; Cabrera Espezua, Jeannelly PaolaThe objective of this study was to determine the relationship between the Knowledge and Practice of Self-Care carried out by hypertensive adults who are treated at the Maternal and Child Health Center of the Magdalena Del Mar District - 2022, for which the methodology used was a quantitative, basic, observational, correlational and cross-sectional study, whose sample was made up of 72 hypertensive adults who are treated at the Magdalena Maternal and Child Health Center. An instrument was used: Level of Knowledge and Practice of Self-Care. The results showed a low level of Knowledge (45.8%) and Practice of Self-Care of Hypertensive Adults with a medium level (44.4%). Regarding the correlation of the variables Knowledge and Practice of Self-Care, the value was p=0.012<0.05. Regarding the variable Knowledge in its Weight and Nutrition Dimension, a low Level was evident (98.6%), p=0.055>0.05. Regarding the variable Knowledge in its Habits Dimension, a Low Level (100%) was presented p=0.054>0.05. Regarding the variable Knowledge in its Control and Treatment Dimension, Low level (100%) p=0.009<0.05. In conclusion, there is a statistically significant relationship (r=0.95; p=0.012<0.05) between the Knowledge and Practice of Self-Care of Hypertensive Adults treated at the Magdalena Maternal and Child Health Center, in the District of Magdalena Del Mar 2022.
