Ítem Acceso abierto Level of knowledge and attitudes about handwashing in 5th grade primary school students of the I.E N ° 1133 Santísima Virgen De Fátima, San Luis, Lima–2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-06-19) Soca Montoya, Felicita Maria; Gonzales Saldaña, Susan HaydeeObjective: to determine the level of knowledge and attitudes about handwashing in 5th grade elementary school students at IE N°1133 Santísima Virgen de Fátima. San Luis – 2019. Material and method: the research was quantitative in approach, non-experimental design, prospective time with a descriptive cross-sectional period. The sample population consisted of 108 5th grade elementary school students. The technique used was a personal survey and the instrument applied was the questionnaire entitled "Handwashing Attitude Questionnaire" by Chacaliaza Morales Víctor. Results: regarding the level of knowledge about handwashing, 54% of schoolchildren have a high level of knowledge, 22% have a medium level of knowledge and 24% have a low level of knowledge. Regarding attitudes about handwashing, more than half 66% of schoolchildren have favorable attitudes and 34% of schoolchildren have unfavorable attitudes. Conclusions: Schoolchildren have a high level of knowledge about handwashing and have favorable attitudes; but in the food handling dimension they have unfavorable attitudes and in the personal hygiene dimension they have favorable attitudes.
