Methodology: A cross-sectional, correlational, non-experimental study was conducted. The population consisted of 780 students, of whom 260 were surveyed. A reliability test was performed using the test–retest technique, where the results of Cramer’s V coefficient were higher than 0.64, indicating that the instrument was reliable. Results: A significant difference was observed in the percentage of consumers with high cholesterol (33.3%) compared to non-consumers (18.8%). The relationship between risk factors and the type of energy drink showed a higher percentage of elevated cholesterol among those who consumed Volt (36.4%) and Monster (57.1%). Regarding reasons for consumption, 25% indicated they used energy drinks to stay alert, and some presented elevated glucose levels. Consumers also reported symptoms such as palpitations (35.6%), anxiety (37.8%), and insomnia (11.1%). Regarding behavioral/modifiable factors, a high percentage of alcohol consumption (56.7%) was associated with energy drink consumers, while the practice of physical activity was higher among non-consumers (82.9%). Conclusion: It was determined that there is a relationship between energy drink consumption and cardiovascular risk factors.
