Ítem Acceso abierto Adherence to the institutional hand-washing protocol in the operating room of a private clinic in Breña.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2015) Ochante Minaya, Melisa Madeleine; Solis Mendoza, Angel David; Chávez Flores, Erik MarioAdherence to the handwashing protocol in the Operating Room before and after the surgical procedure is of utmost importance and must be done correctly. This led to the investigation of the following question: What is the level of adherence to the institutional handwashing protocol among healthcare personnel in the Operating Room of a private clinic in Breña (Lima-Peru)? The study was quantitative, descriptive-explanatory, and prospective. The study population consisted of 100 healthcare professionals (Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Nurses, and Nursing Technicians). The data collection technique used was Participant Observation, with three observations made for each sample element. The instrument used was a Checklist validated by Expert Judges, and reliability was assessed using the Test-Retest method (0.836 Before and 0.909 After the surgical intervention). The overall results show that 83% of the staff demonstrate medium and high adherence to the handwashing protocol before the surgical procedure (71% and 12%, respectively), and 70% show medium and high adherence after the surgical procedure (45% and 25%, respectively). The analysis of the results by strata predominantly shows medium adherence among surgeons, nurses, and nursing technicians, while anesthesiologists show an even distribution of low and medium adherence levels before and after the surgical procedure.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of robotic surgery in patients undergoing prostatectomy(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-01-06) Solis Mendoza, Angel David; Loayza Del Aguila, Noylalith Esther; Calsin Pacompia, WilmerRobotic surgery in prostatectomy is a minimally invasive technique, with a rapid recovery of the physiological functions of the surgically operated patient, since it implements the best techniques of regular surgery and incorporates them into a robot-assisted procedure. The robotic surgery procedure is a relatively new technique in Latin America. Its advantages of this robotic surgery are: ergonomic position for the surgeon, provides a three-dimensional vision in real time, improves the accuracy of movements by eliminating involuntary tremors, 360º rotation of the robot's wrist. Therefore, robotic surgery aims to reduce and recover functions in older adults in terms of; bleeding 60%, urination 60%, fistula reduction, 70% recovery of sexual activity, 70% recovery of perioperative time. Nursing staff should be aware of the need to adapt their work to new techniques related to robotic manipulation. For this, the nurse must update the knowledge in relation to this type of intervention through the Da Vinci system since it works in this novel technique and the continuous attention to the care provided at the time of surgery, the safety of the patient. and reducing surgical times speeds up surgery sessions.
