Ítem Acceso abierto Social support and stigma in patients with tuberculosis who are care at the Jicamarca maternal and children center- Lima 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-11-09) Soria Casimiro, Rosalia; Fernández Rengifo, Werther FernandoThe purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between socialsupport and stigma in tuberculosis patients receiving care at the Jicamarca Maternal and Child Center in Lima, 2023. Methodologically, the study was structured under a hypothetical-deductive, applied, quantitative, cross-sectional, non-experimental, and correlational method. The population consisted of 80 participants, and the sample was also 80 participants as it was a census. Questionnaires were used as instruments for each variable. The results showed that the participants were predominantly male (63.0%), with an age range of 16 to 30 years (42.0%). The majority were single (43.2%). Social support was found to be moderate (73.8%), while stigma was rated as regular (76.3%). It was found that emotional, instrumental, and affective support were significantly related to stigma with a p-value of 0.000. In conclusion, this study demonstrates a significant relationship between social support and stigma, with a p-value of 0.000 and a "Rho" value of 0.572. Therefore, social support can play a crucial role in reducing stigma and promoting the well-being of individuals who experience it.
