Ítem Acceso abierto Efficacy of low protein diets in improving kidney function in patients with chronic kidney disease(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-10-11) Sullcaray Rios, Doris; Tello Rimapa, Erlita; Pretell Aguilar, Rosa MaríaObjective: Systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of low protein diets on kidney function in patients with chronic kidney disease. Material and methods: Systematic observational and retrospective quantitative review, subjected to critical selection, using the Grade evaluation system to identify the degree of evidence, found in the following databases: PubMed, Sciencedirect, Cochrane, Medisan, Scielo, Wiley Online Library, Elsevier, Epistemonikos all correspond to the quantitative type and design of studies: systematic review, meta-analysis, experimental and observational studies. According to the results obtained from the systematic review carried out in the present study, shown in the 10 articles systematically reviewed, 30% (n= 3/10) are systematic reviews, 10% (n= 1/10) are meta-analysis, 20 % (n= 2/10) are quantitative, 20% (n=2/10) are observational, prospective longitudinal studies, 10% (n=1/10) randomized controlled clinical trial and 10% (n=1/10) observational study. Results: In the evidence reviewed, 100% (n=10/10) demonstrate that low-protein diets improve kidney function in patients with chronic kidney disease. Conclusion: 10 of the 10 evidence demonstrate that low protein diets are effective in improving kidney function in patients with chronic kidney disease.
